Independence Charter Academy has had an incredible first semester in 2019! The students have been working very hard and are busy finishing their first semester classes and preparing for finals week in December.

Every Wednesday, the students at Independence Charter Academy have an opportunity to participate in an Art lesson by Mrs. Maldonado and have created some spectacular pieces of art. Ms. Jennings-Bass also offers Science students opportunities to perform interactive Science Labs, which is very well received by the students and gives them hands-on experiences. ICA offers Drivers Education classes which enables the students to get their certificate for their Drivers Permit. Work Experience classes are offered, students that obtain jobs will receive credit for their job experience. The school’s ROTC program is training weekly and is gearing up for the annual Silver Lakes Christmas Parade December 14th.

Sara Perez wins award at LA Clippers Game The Independence Charter Academy Faculty is doing an amazing job with all the students. In November, Mrs. Sarah Perez was awarded by the Los Angeles Clippers as Teacher of the Month and was honored at the Staple Center during the pregame festivities for her students Read to Achieve efforts. All our staff participated in the Silver Lakes Trunk or Treat and really enjoyed seeing all the kids in their costumes, it was a great event.
