As ICA Seniors progress through our newly created Seniors Seminar course, which was put together by our staff to better prepare them for their transition to the adult and working worlds, we are seeing our Seniors step up to the challenge of making decisions about their immediate future “after graduation.” The class, “Senior Seminar,” is made up of a combination of Life and Financial Awareness Skills that we want our graduates to know prior to them graduating and leaving our school. The primary instructors for the Senior Seminar class will be Mr. Josh Behnke (JBehnke@helendalesd.com) and Mr. R. Maldonado (firstname.lastname@example.org).
Further information will follow in the coming days.
Any seniors interested in purchasing senior pictures can do so. The photographer we use is A.Parker Photography. Aracely Gonzalez is the owner and her phone number is 760-694-2008. You can contact her to set up an appointment to get your sitting time and senior pictures completed.
Wow, only two months left in the 2023-24 school year! I first want to thank all of my 8th grade parents for a very smooth first week of state testing. This past week we did the Science CAST test and all students were on time and prepared. The week we come back from spring break on April 11-13th we will be doing the 8th grade ELA testing and the next week on the 18-20th we will be doing the 8th grade Math testing. Keep an eye out for emails from me to sign up your student for a testing session for each. Testing sessions will be on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday at 9am and again at 12pm(noon).
Our latest field trip this past month was to Davey’s Locker in Huntington Beach to go whale watching. With the exception of southern California traffic, the trip was a fantastic success. We were able to see two fin whales, lots of dolphins (including one that bumped into the boat), and loads of sea lions. Thank you to all who attended.
