Happy Halloween! October 2021 Updates & ASB News

This article was last modified on January 26th, 2022.

From the Desk of Dr. Esposito

Dear Independence Charter Academy Students and Families,

We are already into October and almost completed with the first grading period, which will end on October 8, 2021. The staff and students are all working hard and ICA is a very busy place right now. Our ASB and ROTC are meeting weekly and monthly to promote leadership and community development.

A couple of announcements:

For students in grades 6-12, you can receive a weekly progress report on the progress of your child’s classes. This is emailed to you, the email address we have on file is what we send it to. If there is a problem please contact your homeroom teacher. When you get this email from Edmentum, you need to register your email address and the reports will come to you weekly. Students in Grades K-5 your teachers will provide reports bi-weekly to the email address we have on file.

Students, please keep working hard, you are off to a great start, and please try your best to stay on task and keep your class Icons green. Here are some “pointers” to assist you.

Check-in with your Homeroom Teacher every day:

Grades 6-12 – Log in to each of your classes and Learning Paths every day; By the close of our first quarter grading period (October 8th, 2021), you want to be as close as possible to 40-50% completed with your semester class in your subjects.

Grades TK-5 – Log into your Learning Paths every day and complete 2 pages of your Quarter 1 Packet. Also, you should complete one Progress Check each week in ELA; Math; and Reading. You should hand in your quarter packets to your teacher before October 8, 2021.

The faculty and staff at ICA wish our students and families a safe and restful Fall Break. No school October 11th-15th.

Respectfully,

Dr. Esposito

“Our goal is to develop our students, to earn what we get, to learn, to develop unselfish attitudes. If we achieve that, the result is that we’ll win.” – Marv Levy

Crist Counselor Corner

At ICA, our 1st quarter ends on October 8, 2021. That means students are ¼ done with the 2021-22 school year. Each class should be 25% completed if you are an elementary student and 50% completed if you are a high school or junior high student.

Parents, did you know you can check on your child’s progress via Edmentum? Edmentum is the curriculum program we use for our students’ learning while at ICA. If you are uncertain about exactly how to do this, you may log on to your child’s Edmentum account to monitor. If this is still uncertain, contact your child’s teacher to learn how to gain access.
