Crist Counselor Corner

We are off to a great start in 2022-23!

The advantage of Independent Study is students can begin working immediately when enrolled. There is no lag time involving setting classroom rules, developing seating charts, etc.  In a regular setting students also waste time transitioning between classes, getting settled in each class period as well as the normal distractions of other necessary administrative tasks associated with a traditional school setting.

Many of our students have already completed several assignments, some even completed up to a quarter’s worth of school work!

As a parent, you can assist by monitoring your student’s progress from home. This is as simple as asking your child to see his progress on at least a weekly basis. Students at ICA are required to work on each of their classes daily, Monday thru Friday.

Your child has been issued a chrome book where they can access assignments. You can request to see your child’s progress by looking in his chrome book and contacting his teacher. If it does not appear as his progress is sufficient, contact his teacher.  Students are all appraised of the process to access their teacher.

If you have difficulty with this process simply contact me at bcrist@helendalesd.com and I will be more than happy to assist you.
